Paul Hamer

Parliamentary Secretary, Victorian Government

Paul was first elected to the Victorian Parliament in 2018 in the electorate of Box Hill. In his first term, Paul served on the Legislative Assembly’s Planning and Environment Committee. Following his re-election in 2022, Paul served on the Parliamentary Accounts and Estimates Committee. In October 2023, Paul was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for Economic Growth.Paul is particularly passionate about promoting and encouraging students – and particularly female students - to pursue careers in engineering and other STEM disciplines. Prior to his political career, Paul worked as an engineer and project manager in infrastructure planning roles in both the public and private sector. During this time, he worked on critical transport projects across the state, and helped ensure that these projects deliver economic, social, environmental benefits to local communities as well as Victoria as a whole.
